Tripoli: A member of the Electoral Commission’s Board of Directors engaged in a strategic discussion with the UN Resident Representative regarding the Commission’s ongoing preparations for the upcoming Election Day.
According to Libyan News Agency, Abdulhakim Al-Shaab, a member of the Electoral Commission (EC), met with Mohammed Saleh, the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to discuss the Commission’s readiness for the elections slated for August 16. The meeting focused on various support mechanisms to ensure the success of the electoral process, aligning with voter aspirations.
The Commission revealed that part of the meeting included a field tour of the Counting and Statistics Center, where they evaluated the center’s readiness and equipment. They also reviewed the training provided to staff responsible for processing ballot data and preparing for the results announcement. Mohammed Saleh commended the Commission’s efforts in previous stages and emphasized the UNDP’s ongoing support to bolster the Commission’s readiness, aiming to facilitate elections marked by integrity and transparency.
