Cairo: The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the successful repatriation of 71 Egyptian citizens from Tripoli, following their expressed desire to return to Egypt due to ongoing tensions in the Libyan capital.
According to Libyan News Agency, the repatriation was executed in line with directives from the Egyptian President to closely monitor the situation of Egyptians residing in Libya. The Egyptian government coordinated with EgyptAir to dispatch a flight to Tripoli on Friday, ensuring the safe return of those citizens who had registered their information with the Egyptian Embassy in Tripoli and the operations room established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry’s statement elaborated on the role of the National Committee on Libya, which diligently arranged the logistics of the repatriation process. It emphasized that the return of Egyptian citizens was carried out without any financial cost to them, as the Egyptian state covered all expenses related to their repatriation.
