Tunis: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Ati traveled to Tunisia to participate in the tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria. The meeting, held in the Tunisian capital, is part of the tripartite consultation mechanism on Libya and was also attended by Hanna Tetteh, the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Libya.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting is a part of ongoing coordination and consultation among the three countries regarding the latest developments in Libya. The discussions focus on supporting efforts aimed at achieving security and stability and preserving Libya's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, aligning with the Libyan people's aspirations for peace and development.
The Egyptian minister is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with senior Tunisian officials during his visit. The aim of these meetings is to support and strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Tunisia and to exchange views on regional issues of common interest, particularly developments in the Libyan situation.
