A report from the Ministry of International Cooperation (MoIC) reveals that Egypt and Italy have engaged in collaborative efforts across various development sectors, amounting to pound 82 million.

The MoIC states that the debt swap program has played a vital role in fostering cooperation between the two countries, with three components of the program, valued at $350 million, already implemented.

Minister of MoIC, Rania Al-Mashat, recently met with Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirelli, to discuss bilateral cooperation programs and debt swap arrangements.

Al-Mashat expressed her gratitude for the strong partnership with Italy. Initiatives launched in collaboration with Italy have provided crucial funding for numerous priority development projects, including food security, energy, water, education, higher education, civil society, and more.

The minister also highlighted the significant collaboration between Egypt and Europe under the “Team Europe” initiat
ive, which has strengthened cooperative efforts since its establishment in 2020.

Cirelli responded by expressing deep appreciation for the political and economic ties with Egypt, and affirmed Italy’s commitment to maintaining and further enhancing relations with Egypt.
