Tripoli: Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah received the newly appointed Minister of State for Displaced Persons and Human Rights, Jamal Abubakr Abuqrain, marking the commencement of his official duties. During their meeting, Dbeibah highlighted the importance of launching programs and initiatives that aim to enhance human rights protections, contributing to social stability and reinforcing justice principles.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting also focused on setting priorities for the upcoming phase and exploring strategies to improve the protection of displaced persons' rights. Discussions included enhancing service levels across various regions to better address present challenges. The Minister outlined his plan to reorganize efforts in this area, aiming to develop support programs for displaced persons, strengthen the human rights system, and monitor displacement issues alongside related social challenges to ensure program sustainability and service quality improvement.
Jamal Abubakr Abuqrain brings significant academic and professional expertise to his new role. He possesses a PhD in Statistics from the University of Leeds, UK, and has over two decades of experience in research, strategic studies, and supporting national development and social projects. This meeting is part of a broader government reshuffle initiated by Prime Minister Dbeibah to fill key vacancies and enhance executive effectiveness, with a focus on specialized expertise to boost performance in essential sectors.
