Cairo: The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, met with Ambassador Abdulmutallab Thabit, Libya's Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States and Charg© d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Egypt, to deliberate on the status of the Libyan community in Egypt and assess the services rendered by the embassy.
According to Libyan News Agency, during their discussion, Dbeibah instructed the embassy to expedite the establishment of the Libyan School in Cairo and secure a permanent site for it. This initiative aims to provide a consistent educational environment for Libyan children and ease the challenges faced by Libyan families living in Egypt.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of advancing consular services by simplifying procedures, cutting down processing times, and broadening electronic service offerings. These improvements are intended to enhance service efficiency and quality for citizens.
Dbeibah also highlighted the need for strengthening direct communication with the community, monitoring their humanitarian and social conditions, and activating channels for receiving and addressing complaints. He underlined the significance of maintaining coordination with Egyptian authorities to address any issues faced by Libyan citizens, especially regarding residency, education, and healthcare.
Ambassador Abdulmutallab Thabit provided an update on the progress at the Libyan Embassy in Egypt, the steps taken to enhance consular services, and the ongoing efforts to address the needs of the Libyan community. He reiterated the commitment to implementing the Prime Minister's directives to deliver more efficient and higher-quality services to Libyans residing in Egypt.
