Dbaiba Engages in Talks with EU Ambassador on Economic and Immigration Challenges

Tripoli: The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, engaged in discussions with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orland, addressing several pressing issues of mutual interest. The discussions included recent economic developments in Libya and their direct impact on the livelihoods of citizens.

According to Libyan News Agency, the media office of the Prime Minister reported that Dbaiba emphasized the decline in the value of the Libyan dinar as a significant economic challenge. This decline is attributed to parallel and uncontrolled spending. Dbaiba called for a unified and declared international stance to criminalize such spending, which occurs outside the legal framework, and to hold Libyan citizens accountable for its consequences.

The media office further reported that Dbaiba addressed the issue of illegal immigration, asserting that the government has a clear vision to prevent Libya from becoming a home for illegal immigrants. He underscored the importance of collaborative plans to deport migrants to their countries of origin, ensuring respect for sovereignty and adherence to humanitarian standards.

The meeting also explored ways to enhance joint cooperation between Libya and the European Union across various economic, security, and development fields, aiming to serve the interests of both parties and promote stability in Libya and the region.
