Tripoli: Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbaiba met with the Chairman of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takela, to discuss ongoing coordination between state institutions regarding political developments in Libya. The meeting, held on Wednesday, focused on aligning efforts to monitor and address key national issues.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions covered the progress of the political process and strategies to unify positions concerning the constitutional and electoral process. The meeting highlighted the importance of supporting the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to promote stability and ensure the political process succeeds under UN guidance. The conversation also addressed the detrimental effects of uncontrolled parallel spending, which is exacerbated by additional financial fees and an increased dollar exchange rate, leading to economic strain on Libyan citizens and threatening financial and social stability.

The office reported that both leaders concluded the meeting by stressing the importance of coordinating national positions and unifying political dialogue with international stakeholders. They reiterated that any solutions should be rooted in internal consensus, respecting Libyan sovereignty and fulfilling the people’s aspirations for elections and stability.
