Tripoli: Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, engaged in discussions with the Japanese Ambassador to Libya, Shimura Izuru, to address the latest developments concerning Libya’s electoral process and explore ways to support efforts in completing the ongoing municipal elections.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Japanese Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the significant efforts made by the HNEC in organizing the municipal elections. He regards this as an important step towards enhancing democratic participation at the local community level. Furthermore, he affirmed his government’s commitment to supporting the electoral process in Libya.
The HNEC highlighted that this meeting is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation with international partners. The goal is to achieve transparent and inclusive elections that will strengthen the democratic process in Libya.
