Tripoli: During a meeting with the Chinese ambassador, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba emphasized the necessity for major Chinese companies to return to Libya to engage in housing and infrastructure projects, aiming to support reconstruction and advance development. The discussion, held in Tripoli with Liu Jian, Chargé d'Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Libya, focused on bilateral cooperation in economic development, covering sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and communications. According to Libyan News Agency, the dialogue included a review of outcomes from Al-Dabaiba's visit to China in May, where he met with Chinese investors to bolster partnerships in significant development projects. Al-Dabaiba underscored the importance of implementing agreements made during his visit, particularly in alternative energy and communications sectors. The issue of prisoners between the two countries was also addressed, with Al-Dabaiba highlighting the significance of resolving this matter. He suggested the po tential for convicts to serve their sentences in their home countries to enhance judicial cooperation and mutual interests. Additionally, both parties concurred on the urgency of organizing the Libyan-Chinese Forum at the earliest opportunity. This forum is expected to serve as a platform to strengthen mutual cooperation and expand partnerships, especially in energy and communications.
