Tripoli: Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Minister of Defense Abdul Hamid Dabaiba has emphasized the necessity of a unified army for national stability. During a speech at a military graduation ceremony in Tripoli, Dabaiba declared that the path to stability involves supporting a professional army, dismantling armed gangs, and ensuring the rule of law.

According to Libyan News Agency, Dabaiba addressed attendees at the 85th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Libyan Army. He underlined the importance of a single, unified military force that operates under legal authority and is dedicated to the protection of the homeland and its citizens. Dabaiba stated, “We are pursuing three paths: supporting our professional, regular army, ending the rule of outlawed armed gangs, and maintaining stability.”

Dabaiba further explained the ongoing efforts to bring weapons under state control, acknowledging the challenging stages that have been overcome through the determination of the Libyan people. He expressed a willingness to collaborate with those who support the state’s institutions while remaining resolute against obstacles to Libya’s future.

The Prime Minister concluded by asserting that state authority must govern all national facilities without exception. He declared an end to the era of describing Libya or its capital as a country of militias, envisioning a future where the rule of law prevails and the nation moves toward security and stability.
