Tripoli: Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Minister of Defense, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, today attended the graduation ceremony of the 55th batch from the Military College, the 40th batch from the Air Defense College, the 39th batch from the Air College, the 33rd batch from the Naval Studies Academy, and the 36th batch from the Military Technical Institute. The ceremony took place at the Military College headquarters in Tripoli.

According to Libyan News Agency, the ceremony was also attended by Deputy Member of the Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, Director of Military Intelligence Major General Mahmoud Hamza, along with Chiefs of Staff and several military and security leaders.

During the event, Dabaiba delivered a speech congratulating the graduates and their families. He expressed his pride in their integration into the Libyan Army and emphasized the importance of a unified national army operating under legal frameworks to ensure the state’s stability and protect its citizens.

Dabaiba underscored the government’s commitment to supporting a professional regular army, eliminating unauthorized weapons outside state control, and maintaining security stability. He stressed that these objectives are being pursued simultaneously and consistently.

He declared that the era of Libya being labeled as a “country of militias” has ended, asserting that the state’s authority will extend over all sovereign facilities, including ports, airports, and military bases, without exceptions.

Addressing the graduates, the Prime Minister stated, “Today, you are beginning a new phase of work and giving, and you will be on the front lines defending Libya. Adhere to the honor of military service, discipline, and loyalty to the homeland alone, for you are Libya’s shield and its impregnable fortress.”
