Tripoli: The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, engaged with a delegation of dignitaries from Al-Sa’yan and Al-Hararat during a meeting at the Cabinet Office, highlighting the significance of consolidating national efforts. The meeting was attended by various directors of executive institutions from the municipalities of Al-Zawiya Al-Janub and Batin Al-Jabal.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Prime Minister’s media office reported that the gathering focused on several issues related to Libyan public affairs and the evaluation of services provided to the municipalities. Dabaiba emphasized the necessity for dignitaries, social and political leaders, and municipal councils to unite in order to achieve parliamentary and presidential elections under fair and transparent electoral laws. He also underscored the importance of a constitutional referendum to define the framework for the relationship among Libyans.
Dabaiba reiterated the Government of National Unity’s commitmen
t to implementing Law No. 59, which pertains to the activation of local administration and the delegation of sectoral competencies to municipalities to enhance service delivery to citizens. The heads of the executive bodies presented various ongoing projects in the municipalities and those planned for execution by 2025.
The Prime Minister instructed that priority be given to the completion of water supply and sanitation projects in the upcoming development plan. In their responses, the notables underscored the urgency of concluding transitional phases and advancing towards elections, allowing all Libyans to shape their future. They expressed gratitude to Dabaiba for his focus on enhancing the role and capacities of local administration, contributing to national stability.
