Al-Aqouri and Sudanese Consul Discuss Developments in Sudanese Crisis.

Benghazi: The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee in the House of Representatives, Youssef Al-Aqouri, engaged in discussions with Sudanese Consul Abdul Rahman Muhammad regarding the latest developments in the Sudanese crisis. This meeting took place at the House of Representatives' headquarters in Benghazi. During the discussions, Al-Aqouri underscored Libya's commitment to supporting Sudan's stability and unity, emphasizing the importance of preserving peace and rejecting any foreign interference in Sudan's internal affairs. He highlighted the strong fraternal relations between Libya and Sudan. According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Aqouri emphasized Libya's support for Sudan at both governmental and popular levels during this challenging period. He noted that since the onset of the crisis, the Speaker of the House of Representatives issued directives to welcome Sudanese citizens on Libyan soil, treating them as equals to Libyan citizens, and ensuring no camps are establishe d. Al-Aqouri pointed out that stability in Sudan is crucial for Libya's national security. He also stressed the importance of executive bodies addressing issues, particularly those concerning Sudanese students, to ensure their education continues uninterrupted. In response, the Sudanese Consul provided an overview of the Sudanese community's situation in Libya, expressing gratitude to Libyan authorities for facilitating the residence procedures of displaced Sudanese and treating them as equals to Libyan citizens. He requested assistance from Al-Aqouri to open a Sudanese consulate in Kufra to expedite procedures for displaced Sudanese. The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to continue coordinating efforts to assist Sudanese citizens, acknowledging that international aid falls short of addressing the crisis's magnitude.
