Dabaiba Directs Establishment of Development Fund for Western Mountains Projects

Tripoli: The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, convened a significant meeting to assess the progress of development projects in the Western Mountains’ municipalities. The session included several ministers and executive officials.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the status of infrastructure projects in the region, with particular attention to road and water supply projects. Health-related projects, including the construction and maintenance of hospitals, were also discussed. Dabaiba underscored the need to prioritize the maintenance of main roads and expedite the completion of stalled projects across various municipalities in the Western Mountains.

He highlighted the importance of enhancing the health sector and completing unfinished projects in hospitals and medical centers to ensure better services for citizens. Dabaiba directed the Ministry of Local Government to develop a comprehensive plan for establishing the “Western Mountains Development Fund.” This fund is intended to act as a financial support mechanism for development projects in the region and to aid the stability of public services.

Additionally, Dabaiba stressed the necessity for coordination between executive bodies and pertinent ministries to ensure timely implementation of projects. The meeting saw the presence of Minister of Transport Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, Minister of Local Government Badr Eddine Al-Toumi, Secretary-General of the Cabinet Office Rashid Abu Ghafa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Mohamed Al-Ghouj, and leaders of executive agencies tasked with executing projects in the region.
