UNSMIL Welcomes Benghazi Investigation into MP Ibrahim Al-Darsi’s Disappearance

Benghazi: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has expressed approval for the investigation undertaken by the Public Prosecutor in Benghazi regarding the disappearance of MP Ibrahim Al-Darsi.

According to Libyan News Agency, UNSMIL has welcomed this initiative as a significant step toward uncovering the fate of Ibrahim al-Darsi, who was forcibly disappeared approximately a year ago. The mission highlighted the importance of holding those responsible for his disappearance accountable.

UNSMIL emphasized the need for full and transparent cooperation from the relevant authorities with the Public Prosecutor in this investigation. The mission called for similar collaboration in other ongoing investigations concerning violations attributed to security agencies across Libya, addressing issues like abduction, enforced disappearance, and arbitrary detention.
