Tripoli: The Competition Council and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) are exploring the exchange of expertise in the areas of competition protection and consumer rights. The Competition and Anti-Monopoly Council recently held a coordination meeting with the head of the "Support" project, affiliated with GIZ, to enhance technical cooperation in these critical areas.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting, which took place in Tripoli, centered on developing mechanisms to improve the complaints management system, strengthen the violations monitoring system, and support the completion of investigative reports within established legal frameworks. These initiatives aim to enhance the Council's institutional performance.
Participants at the meeting highlighted the importance of utilizing the German Agency's technical expertise in capacity building and procedural system development. This collaboration is expected to fortify the Council's efforts in protecting competition and preventing monopolies.
The meeting concluded with a decision to continue coordination and plan subsequent technical meetings. These meetings will focus on creating a practical framework for support and cooperation programs, ensuring the sustainability of institutional performance development and improving the quality of services provided to consumers.
