Chief of General Staff Discusses with Turkish Foreign Minister in Ankara Efforts to Build and Develop Libya’s Military Institution

Tripoli: Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General 'Salah al-Din al-Namroush,' discussed during a meeting today, Sunday, in the Turkish capital, Ankara, with Turkish Foreign Minister 'Hakan Fidan,' joint cooperation and efforts being made to support stability in Libya.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen cooperation between Libya and Turkey in support of efforts to build and develop the Libyan military institution. The meeting also discussed developments in the situation in Libya and the region, as well as support for efforts to achieve security and stability.

The two sides also affirmed the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation between the two countries and benefiting from expertise and experience in a manner that serves their common interests and supports the process of building a unified, professional Libyan military institution capable of carrying out its duties efficiently.

The visit comes within the framework of strengthening Libyan-Turkish relations and expanding areas of cooperation in a manner that contributes to supporting stability and building national capabilities.
