Tripoli: The Central Bank Governor has emphasized the urgent need to speed up the disbursement of May salaries ahead of Eid Al-Adha. This directive aims to ensure that citizens receive their payments promptly, allowing them to prepare for the upcoming holiday.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) made this call during a meeting on Sunday with several directors from relevant departments. The gathering focused on strategies to accelerate the salary disbursement process, ensuring coordination with commercial banks and issuance departments across various regions. This initiative is intended to enhance cash liquidity and improve electronic payment services, facilitating timely access to financial dues for citizens.

Additionally, the Governor highlighted the necessity of maintaining coordination with international correspondents to supply foreign currencies and support documentary credits. This effort is part of the CBL’s broader strategy to ensure a steady flow of goods into local markets, ultimately supporting financial stability and easing the economic burden on citizens during the festive period.
