The Turkish Foreign Ministry denounced the statements of Israeli National Security Minister / Itamar Ben Gvir / regarding building a synagogue in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement on the X platform: It constitutes a new and very dangerous example of Israel’s efforts to change the status and identity of Al-Aqsa and the holy places in the city.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed in its statement that the statements made by Ben Gvir angered the Islamic world and worried everyone with a sound mind.

It pointed out that these provocations and attacks against Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is a holy place for Muslims only, offend the feelings of Muslims and cause tensions all over the world.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry stressed that the Israeli government’s attacks on the Palestinian people threaten regional and global stability more and more every day, calling on the international community to take measures to stop the Israeli aggression and protect the Palestinian people.

This is t
he first time that Ben Gvir, leader of the far-right “Jewish Power” party, has spoken about establishing a synagogue inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, after he called several times in recent months to allow Jews to pray in the mosque in occupied Al-Quds.

Ben Gvir’s new statements coincided with more settlers performing prayers during their incursions into Al-Aqsa under the protection of the Israeli police, which is effectively subject to his authority.

Since assuming his position in December 2022, Ben Gvir has repeatedly stormed Al-Aqsa, despite Islamic, Arab and international criticism.
