Baghdad / Al-Rusafa police detachments arrested an accused of electronic extortion.
A statement by the Ministry of the Interior stated: "The detachments of the first Baghdad-Rusafa emergency regiment were able to arrest an accused of blackmailing a girl electronically, after she sought help from the detachments of the emergency regiment and was subjected to blackmail by a person known to her."
The statement added: "The complainant claimed that the accused took an amount (16 million dinars) from her in exchange for the appointment, and when he demanded the amount, he threatened to publish her photos on social media."
It explained that: "The accused was arrested in a tight ambush, red-handed, and he admitted that he had committed extortion."
