Tripoli: The Minister of Education in the Government of National Unity, Musa Al-Maqrif, engaged in discussions with the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberni, and the Cultural Attaché at the Italian Embassy, Marcello Mainera, regarding the integration of the Italian language as an optional subject in Libyan educational institutions.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on implementing the provisions outlined in the joint cooperation memorandum between Libya and Italy, specifically within the education sector. A key point of discussion was the possibility of providing Libyan high school graduates with opportunities to pursue higher education in Italy, particularly in the field of the Italian language.

The media office of the Ministry of Education reported that during the meeting, Al-Maqrif expressed his appreciation to the Italian ambassador and emphasized the ministry’s readiness to expand cooperative efforts, which would benefit the educational process in Libya.
