Tripoli: Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council, Mr. Musa Al-Koni, engaged in discussions with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, focusing on the EU’s role in supporting Libya’s political process. This collaboration aims to establish effective solutions to the ongoing crisis, positioning the EU as a unifying force for the country’s unity.

According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Koni emphasized the Presidential Council’s openness to initiatives that promote stability and unity. He highlighted that achieving these goals requires a unified agreement among Libya’s political factions, driven by a Libyan-Libyan consensus and international support, particularly from the United Nations Support Mission.

Al-Koni further stated that Libya’s stability hinges on the establishment of a single government with cohesive institutions to prevent division, which poses significant risks to the nation. He pointed out the marginalization of southern regions in the current division between East and West Libya.

Ambassador Orlando reiterated the EU’s support for the UN’s roadmap to achieve stability in Libya. He underscored the significance of the Libyan issue, which remains a priority for European countries due to its implications for Europe’s security and stability.
