Al-Hawaij Engages with Congolese Parliament in Bilateral Talks

Tripoli: Foreign Minister Abdulhadi Al-Hawaij, representing the government assigned by Parliament, held a significant meeting with Leonard She Okitundu, the Vice-Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The discussions centered on regional and international issues that are of mutual interest to both nations.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting between Al-Hawaij and Okitundu involved a comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation. The focal points included strengthening parliamentary and diplomatic coordination and exchanging expertise in both political and economic spheres.

The dialogue also covered the potential for developing joint partnerships and identifying new cooperation opportunities in development and institutional reform. These efforts aim to contribute towards stability and promote sustainable development in both Libya and Congo.

The officials underscored the importance of continuous coordination and consultation to bolster peace
and security across Africa. They further expressed support for initiatives aimed at overcoming challenges that impede development and stability on the continent.
