Tripoli- The Head of the Government National Unity, “Abdul Hamid al-Dabiba, has stressed the need to activate the role of women and empower them in all administrative positions, including being mayor of a municipality, and that her role should not be limited to membership in municipal councils as well as in the administrative and service sectors.
This came during the reception of Al-Dabaiba, this afternoon at the Cabinet Office, female members of the municipal councils of Sebha, Ghat, Brak, Bergen, Al-Qardah Al-Shati, Ubari, Murzuq, Idri, Harawa, Mizdah, Tahala, Al-Barakat, Al-Ghuraifa and Al-Bawanis.
The prime minister also expressed his support for Libyan women in all fields, stressing that the municipal council member should have a role in following up projects and working to activate them according to the municipality’s needs.
The meeting, which was held in the presence of the Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Houria Al-Tarmal, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, and civil society, was devoted to discussing the difficulties facing women and their professional, political and social roles.
