Tripoli: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, received His Excellency Dr. Hafiz Rahman, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of India to Libya, at the Ministry headquarters this morning, Thursday. Al-Baour welcomed the Indian Ambassador, wishing him success in his diplomatic duties and affirming the Ministry's support for all procedures related to finalizing his accreditation as Ambassador of the Republic of India to Libya.
According to Libyan News Agency, during the meeting, Al-Baour and Dr. Rahman reviewed the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries and explored ways to strengthen and develop their relationship in various areas of mutual interest. Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing consultations and coordination to serve their shared interests.
The Acting Minister stressed the importance of developing relations in the fields of health and education and encouraged Indian companies to return and contribute to urban development, road, infrastructure, and construction projects. He also highlighted the significance of strengthening cooperation in the field of digital technology through the exchange of training, capacity-building, and development programs.
Al-Baour expressed his best wishes to the Ambassador for success in his diplomatic duties, while the Ambassador of the Republic of India expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, praising the distinguished historical relations between his country and Libya.
