Al-Baour Engages with EU Officials to Enhance Libyan Cooperation

Tripoli: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, engaged in discussions with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, focusing on bilateral relations. This meeting took place at Al-Baour’s office in Tripoli, with the Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM) also in attendance.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement detailing the discussions, which centered on enhancing cooperation in political and development arenas, alongside issues pertinent to supporting stability and improving the performance of Libyan institutions. Al-Baour highlighted the strategic partnership with the European Union, recognizing its supportive role in Libya’s stability and reconstruction efforts.

Nicola Orlando acknowledged the current level of cooperation, emphasizing the European Union’s commitment to deepening these ties to promote mutual interests and enhance peace and development opportunities in Libya. The ministry underscored that this meeting is part of ongoing coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the EUBAM mission, which aims to provide technical support and capacity building, particularly in border management and governance, thereby boosting the efficiency of Libyan institutions.
