Al-Baour and United Nations Discuss Enhanced Cooperation and Governance Systems

Tripoli: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, held a meeting with Ulrika Richardson, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Libya. The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation with the United Nations.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry highlighted on its official page that the meeting concentrated on cooperation between Libya and the United Nations in key areas, including oversight and governance priorities. National efforts to build reliable and accountable public financial systems, adhering to international standards and practices, were also part of the agenda.

During the meeting, Ulrika Richardson acknowledged the national efforts aimed at unifying institutions and the progress made by relevant authorities in monitoring and auditing. She identified these efforts as crucial for improving transparency and fairness.

Richardson also reiterated the United Nations’ commitment to supporting national efforts and emphasized the importance of strengthening and developing its partnership with Libya through training and capacity-building programs.
