Al-Araji confirms Iraq’s commitment to protecting Diplomatic Missions

Baghdad - National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji affirmed Iraq's commitment to protecting diplomatic missions.

The Chancellery stated in a statement: “Al-Araji met in his office today with the French Ambassador to Baghdad, Eric Chevalier, and discussed with him the latest developments on the situation, at the international and regional levels, as well as discussing the files of the Syrian Al-Hol camp, and the continuation of cooperation between Baghdad and Paris in the field of combating terrorism and exchanging information.

The meeting also witnessed a review of the latest developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip, and the killing of innocents and collective punishment that Palestinians are subjected to.

Al-Araji stressed that the killing of children and the destruction taking place in the Gaza Strip is unacceptable, pointing out that innocent lives are being lost without fault.

Al-Araji renewed Iraq's commitment to protecting diplomatic missions, stressing that Iraq's consistent policy is to avoid disputes with neighboring countries and seek to consolidate the principle of dialogue and diplomatic channels in resolving crises.

For his part, the French Ambassador indicated that his country emphasizes taking into account the humanitarian aspect in the Gaza Strip, praising the efforts of the Iraqi government in protecting the missions operating in Iraq.
