Baghdad: A number of oil companies in Basra raised the purple flag after the temperature exceeded 52 degrees Celsius. Sources said that this flag was raised over the facilities of the South Refineries Company and the Rumaila fields after temperatures rose to more than 52 degrees Celsius. It added that the flag indicates short ultraviolet rays, which are the most dangerous to humans and lead to sunstroke and kill living cells in the body. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
