Cairo: The 163rd regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level commenced at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, located in the Egyptian capital. Delegations from various member states are participating in this session.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Libyan delegation is being led by Taher Salem Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The session is focusing on several priority issues impacting both regional and international spheres. Key topics include the latest developments in the Palestinian cause, regional dynamics, and the situation in Libya.
The Council reiterated its unwavering support for Libya’s sovereignty and unity. Emphasis was placed on the necessity of Libyan ownership in the political process. The Council also welcomed initiatives aimed at facilitating presidential and parliamentary elections as a means to conclude transitional phases and strengthen the democratic process.
