Al-zuni: The participation of youth leaders in the municipal council elections reflects a growing political awareness: The Minister of Youth in the Government of National Unity, Fathallah Al-Zuni, praised the remarkable and effective participation of youth in the second group of municipal council elections for 2025, stressing that this participation represents a milestone in the path of youth empowerment and enhancing their presence in political life and local decision-making.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Minister emphasized the significance of more than 25 young men and women, youth leaders affiliated with local youth councils, running for candidacy in 22 out of the 26 municipalities where elections were held. This candidacy serves as a true indicator of the growing awareness of the importance of effective participation in managing local affairs. It also highlights the tangible results of the ongoing rehabilitation and training efforts these youth have received over the past two years in the fields of local administration and elections.

Al-Zuni pointed out that this step does not represent a mere number or symbolic presence, but rather expresses a deep awareness that positive change begins from the grassroots, and that municipal councils are real platforms for building a better future and enhancing youth participation in decision-making at the local level.

The Minister of Youth concluded his statement by emphasizing the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to supporting and empowering youth leaders within local councils, saying, “We are proud of this national spirit and high sense of responsibility that our youth embody. They represent not only the future of the nation, but also its vibrant present, full of vitality, ambition, and a determination to change.”
