Tripoli: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced the launch of a digital platform targeting young Libyan men and women aged 18 to 35. This platform aims to engage young people residing in Libya in contributing their perspectives to the structured dialogue process.
According to Libyan News Agency, the mission outlined on its website that the platform's primary objective is to maximize young people's participation across Libya in the dialogue process. This initiative is set to complement and support the efforts of young members who are actively participating in the structured dialogue.
The mission highlighted that this digital platform will serve as a medium for participants to express their opinions on key dialogue issues. It ensures these opinions reach the young members involved in the structured dialogue, thereby amplifying the voices of young people throughout the country in the political process.
Hanna Tetteh, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, commented on the initiative, stating, "Young people in Libya are not only the future of the country, but also its present. They are the ones most affected by the current political crisis, and they stand to benefit the most from a peaceful transition that allows them to elect leaders of their own choosing."
