Manama: Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) held its first charity marathon, the Diabetes Day Race, in recognition of World Diabetes Day. The event brought together 1,000 participants, aiming to support the provision of insulin pumps for children with Type 1 diabetes. Since 2019, the initiative has benefited 265 children through partnerships with various entities.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the marathon included races for children, adults, and individuals with special needs. Additionally, there were healthy meals provided by restaurants and awareness sessions on insulin pumps conducted by King Hamad University Hospital, Al Hilal Hospital, and Pure Life Medical Equipment company.

Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Bahrain Runners Committee; Foulath Holding, the main sponsor; Bapco Energies, the gold sponsor; Water Garden City, the hosting entity; Dr. Maryam Al Hajri, Vice President of the Bahrain Diabetes Society; and Dr. Dalal Al Romaihi, Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology at King Hamad University Hospital.
