EU Delegation Praises Libya’s Efforts Ahead of Municipal Elections.

Tripoli: The European Union Delegation and diplomatic missions of EU Member States to Libya have expressed their commendation for the efforts of the High National Election Commission (HNEC) and other involved parties. This support comes as Libya prepares for municipal council elections in an initial group of 58 municipalities, marking a significant step towards ensuring representative local governance and enhancing political participation through electoral means. According to Libyan News Agency, the mission emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and adhering to the code of conduct established by the HNEC. They urged for the democratic process to be supported by ensuring a safe and inclusive environment throughout the electoral period. The EU Delegation and diplomatic missions also reaffirmed their commitment to assisting all relevant institutions in advancing Libya's democratic journey.
