U.S. Official Reaffirms Commitment to Libyan-Led Reunification Efforts

Cairo: Senior Adviser for Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, Massad Boulos, affirmed his country's commitment to supporting Libyan-led efforts to reunify state institutions, promote stability, and bring an end to years of political division in Libya. According to Libyan News Agency, Boulos' remarks came during a meeting with the newly appointed Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Nabil Fahmy. He congratulated Fahmy on his appointment and expressed wishes for success in his new role. The meeting addressed several issues of mutual interest, with developments in Libya being a prominent topic in the discussions. In a post published on his account on the social media platform X following the meeting, Boulos described the discussions with the Secretary-General as productive. He emphasized the importance of continuing the Libyan-led political process in a manner that supports national unity and promotes inclusive governance.
