U.S. Embassy in Libya Marks 249th Anniversary of American Independence with a Commitment to Cooperation

Tripoli: The U.S. reiterated its commitment to continued cooperation and joint efforts to support a more unified, prosperous, and secure Libya during a reception hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Libya yesterday to commemorate the 249th anniversary of U.S. independence, in the presence of members of the diplomatic community and Libyan and international officials.

According to Libyan News Agency, the U.S. Embassy emphasized the strong partnership with Libya, focusing on advancing peace and prosperity for both nations. The embassy highlighted that bilateral cooperation continues to develop in a way that serves stability and development. In a tweet, the embassy reiterated its aspiration for the next year, marking the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and 230 years of diplomatic relations with Libya. Washington remains committed to supporting efforts to build a unified and secure Libya and enhance opportunities for prosperity for its people.
