Tripoli Chamber of Commerce Engages with Ubae Roma Bank on Financial Procedures

Tripoli: The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture held a meeting today with the Ubae Rome Bank, affiliated with the Libyan Foreign Bank, to discuss the recent decisions of the Central Bank of Libya and how to facilitate procedures for documentary and financial credits for Libyan merchants and companies.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was attended by member of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, Anwar Abusta, member of the Board of Directors, Najib Al-Ghawi, General Manager, Mohamed Dozan, and, on behalf of Ubae Bank, General Manager, Maurizio Valfrii, Deputy Director, Al-Sharif Alwan, and Head of the Bank’s Administration Department, Antonio Verelli. The discussions also focused on overcoming financial obstacles faced by Libyan businessmen and companies when dealing with the European market.

The Chamber’s media office reported that the Ubae Rome Bank intends, during its visit to Tripoli, to hold meetings with the Central Bank of Libya. The Tripoli Chamber of Commerce requested the bank to discuss the challenges and difficulties facing merchants and business owners in bank transfer operations, aiming to enhance and facilitate financial and commercial operations between Libya and Europe.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, Anwar Abusta, emphasized the necessity of cooperation between banks, business owners, and merchants, especially concerning procedures and financial transfers, amidst the escalating challenges Libya is experiencing with commercial banks.
