Trabelsi and his Turkish counterpart sign a memorandum of understanding in the field of law enforcement and training.


Tripoli: The Minister of Interior of the Government of National Unity, Major General “Imad Al-Tarabulsi”, and his Turkish counterpart “Ali Yerli Kaya”, signed in Istanbul a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of law enforcement and training between the two countries.

The signing ceremony was witnessed, according to the Ministry of Interior, by a number of officials from the Ministries of Interior of the two countries, in addition to the Libyan Ambassador and the Libyan Consul to the Republic of Turkey in Istanbul.

The two sides held a meeting after the signing, during which they discussed facilitating visa procedures for Libyan patients and students sent to the Republic of Turkey, as well as facilitating the necessary residence procedures for them and their companions, taking into account their health conditions.

The Turkish Minister of Interior expressed his country’s readiness to work on these procedures within a memorandum of understanding to be signed between the tw
o countries.

The meeting also discussed a number of security issues of common interest, stressing the importance of developing security cooperation to ensure the protection of common interests and enhance regional stability.

The two sides discussed ways of cooperation in the fields of security training and qualification and the exchange of information to combat terrorist threats and organized crime.
