Nouakchott, The President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, “Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazwani,” received today, Thursday, at the presidential palace in the capital, Nouakchott, Vice-President of the Presidential Council, “Abdullah Al-Lafi” and his accompanying delegation, which began a two-day official visit to Mauritania.

At the beginning of the interview, President Al-Ghazwani stressed the depth of the Libyan-Mauritanian relations and ways to strengthen them to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

The Mauritanian president discussed with “Al-Lafi” files of common interest in many fields through the Libyan-Mauritanian joint committee, support for investment in the public and private sectors, revival of the Arab Maghreb Union, and Libya’s accession to the Group of Five Sahel countries (G5) due to its active role in the region.

The meeting also touched on the file of comprehensive national reconciliation, the path to stability in Libya.
