The Minister of the Interior in charge, Major General Imad Mustafa Trabelsi, received today, Sunday, at the Ministry’s office, Georgette Gagnon, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya and Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs, and her accompanying delegation.
The Ministry of Interior stated that the meeting discussed the role of the Ministry of Interior in protecting children and families and cooperation with UNICEF in preparing programs in this regard.
She added that the meeting also reviewed the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in combating illegal immigration and the humane treatment that immigrants receive inside shelter centers, especially vulnerable groups of children and women, until they are voluntarily deported to their countries.
