Takala Hands Over “Shield of Resilience” to Gaza-Bound Convoy

Tripoli: The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, has presented the “Shield of Resilience” to the delegation of the “Omar Al-Mukhtar” convoy, which is preparing to join an international flotilla aiming to break the siege on the Gaza Strip imposed by the Israeli occupation forces. This development occurred during a meeting at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli, attended by Takala’s deputies, Hassan Habib and Moussa Faraj. The meeting underscored Libya’s official and popular support for Palestinian rights amidst the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

According to Libyan News Agency, the convoy delegation comprises several Arab and foreign activists. Notable among them are British activists Yvonne Ridley and Margaret Scotland, along with Libyan activists Mohamed Al-Haddad, Kamal Al-Shami, and Nabil Al-Sukni. The meeting highlighted Libya’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and its endorsement of international efforts to alleviate Palestinian suffering.

The Omar Al-Mukhtar convoy is part of an international fleet consisting of over fifty ships and boats, with participation from activists and representatives from various European and Maghreb countries. This endeavor represents a renewed attempt to break the blockade on Gaza, which has significantly affected civilians, particularly children, women, and the elderly.
