Special Tasks Department Seizes Illegal Immigration Boat Factory Near Tripoli

Tripoli: The Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity has seized a factory used for manufacturing illegal immigration boats in the Al-Qawiya area, situated east of Tripoli. The operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking in the region.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Special Tasks Department announced that its patrols had discovered the factory, located west of the city of Qarabulli. The discovery was made after receiving information from confidential sources about the site's role in manufacturing boats intended for smuggling illegal immigrants. This operation marks a significant step in addressing the persistent issue of illegal immigration.

The department revealed that, with a warrant from the relevant prosecutor at the Attorney General's office, the site was raided by patrols from the Special Tasks Department, which is affiliated with the General Directorate of Security Operations. Several boats, prepared for human trafficking operations, were seized during the raid. The department reiterated its commitment to ongoing investigations and monitoring efforts aimed at dismantling criminal networks that exploit human lives and threaten national security. It also emphasized its dedication to taking strong measures against those involved in such illegal activities.
