Tripoli:Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, emphasized the vital role of the Customs Authority in securing border crossings, regulating trade, and combating smuggling.
According to Libyan News Agency, this statement was made during a graduation ceremony on Tuesday for a new cohort of 513 Customs Authority officers. These officers hailed from various cities and regions across the country and had completed a six-month training and qualification program.
In his address, Dbeibah stressed the importance of training customs personnel and enhancing their professional competence. This, he noted, is essential for enabling them to fulfill their responsibilities in safeguarding the national economy.
The training program aimed to prepare non-commissioned officers for service within the officer corps. It included coursework in customs sciences and specialized subjects pertinent to their duties, alongside military training.
