Manama, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, sent a cable of congratulations to Ibrahim Boughali, Speaker of the National People’s Assembly of Algeria, President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the AIPU.
Al Musallam emphasised the importance of activating parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing joint Arab action and supporting Bahrain’s initiatives in the 33rd Arab Summit, held in Bahrain under the presidency of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Speaker underscored the efforts of the AIPU in advancing the Arab parliamentary work since its establishment through holding programmes and conferences, enhancing Arab and international relations and supporting the Palestinian cause and other Arab causes.
Al Musallam expressed his appreciation for the AIPU’s efforts to develop Arab parliamentary work in different domains. He emphasised the Council of Representatives’ commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation wit
h the AIPU.
