Nalut: The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced the resumption of operations at the Sinawen oil field in the Nalut region, marking the end of a shutdown that lasted more than three and a half years. The field had been inactive due to financial and technical challenges associated with shipping operations through the pipeline connected to the Mellitah Industrial Complex.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) has started the gradual process of restarting the oil field after successfully completing essential maintenance work and resolving operational bottlenecks. This process is being carried out while strictly adhering to safety and efficiency standards.
The NOC stated that this move is part of its broader strategic plan aimed at boosting production, enhancing national resources, and supporting the economy. The Sinawen field, established in 2020, holds significant importance in the western region's oil infrastructure and plays a vital role in enhancing the overall performance of Libya's oil sector. The phased resumption of operations is expected to increase production rates and provide additional resources for local development projects and essential services.
