SHEIKH AL-KHATIB BROACHES SITUATION, BILATERAL RELATIONS WITH BRAZILIAN AMBASSADOR

Deputy Head of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council, Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, on Tuesday received at the Council’s headquarters, Brazilian Ambassador to Lebanon, Tarcísio Costa, who came on an acquaintance visit, during which they discussed the current situation in Lebanon and the region, and the strengthening of the bilateral relations between the two countries. Sheikh Al-Khatib wished the Brazilian Ambassador success in deepening the bilateral cooperation at the official and popular level in the interest of the two friendly countries and peoples, especially that Brazil hosts the largest Lebanese community. Sheikh Al-Khatib thanked the Brazilian state and its people for helping Lebanon and standing with the Lebanese people during crises, wishing the Brazilian state and people constant progress, prosperity, and stability. Al-Khatib stressed that the dispute among the Lebanese is political rather than religious, underlining that dialogue is the way to agree on fulfilling the presidential elections.
