Tripoli, Reuters news agency quoted senior US administration officials as saying that US Vice President Camilla Harris will participate in the Paris conference on Libya next week.
Reuters indicated that Harris will express, through the Paris conference next week, her country’s support for Libya to take steps towards holding general elections next December.
One of the officials told the agency: “We want to show our support for the Libyan people during this conference as it heads towards national elections, and the necessity of the withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries from the country.”
It is noteworthy that the French capital, Paris, will host on the 12th of this month an international conference on Libya in cooperation with the United Nations, Germany and Italy, attended by about 20 world leaders. It will be allocated to support the elections scheduled in Libya before the end of this year.
