Representative in the Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi receives a member of the German Parliament.

Today, Sunday, Representative of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, discussed with German Parliament Member Tobias Bacherle ways to advance the political process and the outcomes of the work of the 6+6 Committee in drafting electoral laws, in the presence of Member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Ayman. Saif Al-Nasr’ and the German Ambassador to Libya, ‘Michael Unmacht’.

The Presidential Council stated that the meeting also reviewed the latest developments accomplished in the national reconciliation project, emphasizing the participation of all major parties in the political process.

During the meeting, Al-Lafi praised Germany’s role in finding a political solution to the Libyan crisis through the Berlin process, stressing the importance of holding a comprehensive conference to issue founding, legislative and executive recommendations and a national charter that defines the principles and constants that must be adhered to by all parties for the success of the political process and peace-buildi
ng in Libya.

For his part, the member of the German Parliament stressed his country’s readiness to provide all support for the success of the political process and the national reconciliation project to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people to carry out electoral elections and achieve lasting stability and peace.
