Tripoli: The Presidential Council members Musa al-Koni and Abdullah al-Lafi engaged in a meeting with Khaled Shakshak, the Head of the Audit Bureau, to deliberate on enhancing transparency and governance within state institutions. The discussions aimed at supporting the Bureau’s ongoing efforts to refine its oversight capabilities.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on improving coordination between the Audit Bureau and executive bodies to safeguard public funds and reinforce principles of discipline and transparency. Key topics included initiatives to enhance monitoring systems for government spending and modernizing digital tools to improve data quality and verification accuracy.
During the session, the Presidential Council members highlighted the crucial role of the Audit Bureau in driving administrative and financial reform. They acknowledged the Bureau’s adoption of modern work programs that align with digital transformation and transparency needs, as reported by the Audit Bureau.
The deputies also assessed the progress on the annual report and the efforts to enhance the readiness of oversight reports. They reviewed new technological programs aimed at automating oversight processes and improving the Audit Bureau’s capacity for financial data analysis.
